STAR WARS: Tales of the Jedi Set 1-5
This 5 part story from 1993 was an early Dark Horse mini-series, written by Tom Veitch with art by Chris Gossett, Janine Johnston, John Nadeau and David Roach. The epic drama Star Wars was said to have happened “long ago, in a galaxy far away.” In that same galaxy, but even longer ago, lies the tale of the Jedi Knights.

That was a time of peace, forged by the vast
confederation of star systems known as the Galactic Republic. Unlike
the dark empire in Star Wars, the Galactic Republic was a democracy,
famed for its wise and fair leadership. When danger threatened, it also
could call on its protectors, the Jedi Knights. These heroic warriors
fought for the cause of good, using their lightsabers and the celestial
power of the Force as their weapons.
Ulic Qel-Droma was a young
Jedi Knight who had just been taken into the order. Master Arca, his
tutor, decided to test his mettle by sending him to the planet Onderon
along with Ulic’s brother and another recruit. A war had been raging
there for eons, and these three young recruits, by themselves, would
somehow have to put an end to it.
