FANTASTIC FOUR #36 1st Medusa & Frightful Four VG+ 4.5

$44.95

Fantastic Four #36 March 1965 is the 1st Appearance of the nemesis team "The Frightful Four". Their membership included "Paste Pot Pete" (a/k/a "the Trapster"), the Sandman and the Wizard--and introduced MEDUSA, at that time called Lady Medusa. Her 1st appearance showcased a battle against Sue Storm, proving herself more than a match for the Invisible Girl!

The condition of this copy is in the strong VG range--the wear is limited to the 4 corners, with some tears and creases that keep this issue from a higher grade.  But the majority of the spine, front cover surface (notwithsatnding the corners0 are unbroken or uncreased and the back cover is solid...hence when the vivid colors and excellent spine are factored in structurally, the book is at the high end of Very Good+, possible as high at a 45-5.0.

PRICING NOTES: this copy of FF 36 has been priced in line with the 2009 Overstreet Guide price for a 4.0 copy, which should eliominate any argument about valuing this copy in the range of VG or better!

In addition, your satisfaction is guaranteed-the book is unadulterate or restored in any fashion and if upon viewing it personally you are unhappy, you may return it under our 7 day return right.

Medusa, a creation of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, was and remains an important female character in the Marvel Universe. This 1st appearance is considered professionally "undervalued" as it remains in the "Guide price grid" with other FF issues between 31-40, when it deserves special consideration as a break out book due to Medusa'a 1st appearance.

Medusa has joined up with the Fantastic Four team, temporarily replacing Sue Storm-Richards. Her younger sister, Crystal, went on to marry Quicksilver of the Avengers. At the time of her 1st appearance she was suffering from amnesia and was unaware of her (law abiding) Royal heritage (she later was affiliated with the Inhumans...and married Black Bolt--see FF issue #45 for the 1st appearance of the Inhumans!).
