This is a nice, solid copy of the early Fantastic Four issue that featured

the Marvel writing/art team of Stan Lee & Jack Kirby in the story;

this is also the 1st Fantastic Four storyline plot that has Doctor Doom changing places with Reed Richards!

The pin up page, often missing in this issue, is complete and as shown.  These pin-ups (also called "Fantastic Four Feature Pages")were in many early issues and often are missing as kids would remove them!  We check the books carefully for these pages to ensure the books' completeness.

I grade this issue a solid Very Good, 4.0 YET IT IS DISCOUNTED just BELOW the March 2009 Overstreet guide (already 10 months old) . The 4.0 grade is supported in light of the following menu of defects:

• a crease on the FC & a few minor tears consistent with the grade
• a crease on the back cover, unimportant in this grade--the back cover is solid & pretty
• normal/moderate Marvel chipping on the right edge
• an innocuous date stamp on the front cover
