With all the talk of a Cap America movie coming in 2011, you would think some books could sell themselves. In recent years, this classic cover has been able to do almost just that.
The Hulk, Bucky and Jim Steranko's hypnotic art style are all important parts of this late silver age 1969 issue.
NOTE: This is a Universal, therefore unrestored CGC Very Fine/Near Mint 9.0 with very nice page quality of OffWhite to White pages. There is literally nothing visibly wrong with the book so it was subject to the usual strict CGC grading.
In case you have been living in a vacuum, the Avengers and Cap America are both slated to be on the big screen next year. Issues such as this have been appreciating in value and interest LONG BEFORE the news of the upcoming major films!
Crazy Ed includes this GREAT Steranko reprint book to enjoy the art and story along with the CGC version. Including a reader version is one reason mnay collectors buy their CGC comics from Crazy Ed!
A NOTE ABOUT CGC PRICING & VALUES: The 2009 Overstreet guide (already nearly a year old) price for the issue in 9.2 Near Mint minus is $160. Books in the NM ranges commonly go for above guide; there is usually a premium for CGC copies, especially with high page quality! Someone spent $29-49 to have this book graded and then there is the (relatively modest) value to the reader copy!
CGC items are carefully packed for protection when shipped.
