A set of 3 of the 2003 sequel story by the master "Dark Knight" story-teller, Frank Miller.
Some of the "Dark Knight" fans who read this series when 1st published did not "get into' the storyline for several reasons-the plot was stretched out by months between publications of parts 1 & 2, the 1st 2 issues showcased other JLA members, including Atom and Superman/Wonder Woman. This complex plot builds to a very satisfying ending, with a large supporting cast of heroes ending the grip that Luthor holds on corporate America and Brainiac holds on the Man of Steel.
Without giving away all elements of the climax, here are a few preview scenes to help the reader understand that Miller was telling another complex, and engaging tale of villians getting punished and the good guys winning!
After allowing himself to be caught by Luthor's security system, the Batman takes an awful beating during questioning by the foul tyrant, Luthor, and smugly drinks tea delivered by another JLA member, the Flash, and tells Luthor of his pending end:
In another storyline drama, Lara (the super-powered daughter of Superman and Wonder Woman) confronts the evil Android computer Brainiac, in a brilliant scheme of Batman to free the long bottled city of Kandor and end Brainiac's control of blackmail on Superman!
Note: modern sets are average condition 9.0 or better unless otherwise noted.
