 Item specifics

Genre: GREAT 60's storyline Publisher: Early Silver DC
Type: UNRESTORED! Character: COMET the Super-Horse!

ACTION COMICS #300, a 1963 Anniversary issue that has possibly one of the greatest early 1960's storylines...Superman trapped under a red sun! There is real drama and a struggle for a non-powered Man of Steel to find his way to Earth under a yellow sun. The Superman story cover and interior art are by the great Curt Swan; there is the regular 2nd feature Supergirl story with another appearance by COMET, the Superhorse.

This copy is graded a solid FN/VF 7.0  The cover colors are still rich and bright. The interior was carefully checked for completeness. No cover creases; light corner wear. Great looking cover colors and cut, there is only very light wear on the spine, no visible stress marks that cut ink.  The cover, centerfold & staples are well attached. The Back cover has a TINY nick (pictured) and also reflects a minor staining (not ink) on the back spine area (also pictured). The interior covers are creamy and supple; interior pages are supple and more white than Off-white. Overall, it looks GREAT for a 48 year+ book and for the grade range is still vivid and solid.

To assist you in evaluating the book, we provide scans as follows:
  • front cover and back cover
  • closeup of each corner, and shots of the 2 noteworthy back cover defects.
The 2009 Overstreet guide value for Action #300 in 7.0 FN/VF is $65.00 (the NM- 9.2 price is $230).  A collector looking for AFFORDABLE solid, unrestored higher grade Superman Key issues from the early Silver Age would be pleased by the overall look of this issue.
